I am a knitting FIEND, I tell you. I finished my Simply Marilyn, and it's blocking on the bed right now. My first real honest-to-god finished sweater! I cannot wait to wear it.

I'm still knitting along on my Rogue hoodie. The hardest thing is when I mess up and have to unravel cables. It's hard to get the stitches back on the needle right. So far it's going Ok, though. Took me several tries and some fancy work to pick up the stitches to continue the body behind the pocket, also, but I got it. I'm knitting it in Cascade 220, which is 100% pure Peruvian Highland Wool, and ohmygosh. It's so soft I can barely believe it's wool. To me wool always seems scratchy and argh, but this is amazing, gorgeous stuff. It's sort of teal.

I also bought yarn and needles to make a certain pair of socks I've had my eye on for a long time. Finishing that one sweater and doing the cable swatch on Rogue has upped my pattern-following confidence by about a million factors. I can do it, yes.

I will likely be online tomorrow. So should all of you!

My grandfather on my mother's side made a pretty decent living repairing radios. I had dinner tonight with my father and brother, and my father told this story )

Great story, eh?
